Dear Friends and Partners
Welcome to our March 2026 update from Kunning Gambia and Great Minds Skills Training Centre (GMSTC). We are grateful for your continued encouragement, support, and partnership.

A New Chapter: Moving to Quarterly Newsletters
We are pleased to share that we are moving from monthly newsletters to quarterly updates.
This change will allow us to bring you more meaningful stories, clearer updates, and a richer picture of the work taking place across Kunning Gambia and GMSTC. It will also give us more time to highlight seasonal events, showcase Gambian culture and community, and share the progress of our students in greater depth.
Most importantly, this new format will help us focus on producing high-quality content that reflects the heart of our work.
Expanding Our Community Presence
This year, Kunning Gambia and GMSTC will be attending more community events as vendors, giving us the opportunity to showcase and sell items created by our students.
This is an important step for our programme. It gives students the chance to:
- Present their work to a wider audience
- Connect directly with customers
- Gain confidence and communication skills
- Receive valuable feedback
- Build relationships with other vendors and artists
- Increase awareness of Kunning Gambia, GMSTC, and our mission
We are especially excited to showcase our students’ Tie and Dye creations and other handmade items at upcoming events.
Weekly Tie and Dye Classes
We are delighted to announce that our weekly Tie and Dye classes began on 8 March 2026.
These sessions take place every Sunday from 10:00am to 2:00pm and offer a creative, welcoming space for people to learn traditional techniques, explore their creativity, and make beautiful handmade pieces.
Class fee: €10
Duration: Creative sessions held during the Sunday class period
We look forward to welcoming both new and returning participants.
Support Needed: Donations and Materials
To keep our creative programmes growing, we are currently seeking donations of:
- Fabric
- Bedsheets
- Sewing machines
- Sewing accessories
- Crochet and knitting tools
- Wool and other craft materials
We are deeply grateful to everyone who has already supported us financially. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to purchase a screen printer, which is helping us place design logos on T-shirts and caps.
Your continued support helps us provide the materials and resources needed for our Tie and Dye classes and other practical training activities. Whether your contribution is large or small, new or gently used, it is sincerely appreciated.
